1/19/2023 0 Comments How to set up at2020Having Gain at or more than 3 o’clock picks up EVERYTHING. Set-up: AT2020 XLR microphone connected to the Focusrite 2i2 (1st Generation) with Audacity.Ĭurrent process: Set Gain to 3 o’clock, position about 6 inches from pop filter in front of mic, Normalize > Compressor > Noise Gate in Audacity.Īny Gain less than 3 o’clock results in noticeable white noise after normalizing audio (much more prominent when it’s not overlapping game audio). I've been wanting to upgrade my audio quality before starting a new let’s play, but after constant testing and researching, I have a few concerns about my audio before and after editing. Hello everyone! First time posting so please bear with me. Otherwise, I think everything is fixed up for. If anyone has any suggestions on other solo/2 input audio interfaces, that'd help a lot later on when I decide to replace it. UPDATE: Ended up getting a new 6" Lyx Pro XLR cable. There was a slight improvement with the incoming audio compared to the 10" Cable Matters XLR cables I had (was going to record in a much larger room), but I agree it could be the audio interface itself.
